North of Croft Road Consultation

04 Jul 2016

Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson Homes are holding a public exhibition on detailed proposals for around 363 homes to the north of Croft Road. The proposals were given outline planning permission in 2014 as part of the wider South of M4 Strategic Development Location which aims to provide around 2,500 new homes, new parks, open space, play areas, schools and community facilities.

The proposal will be aiming to provide a wide range of homes, from 1 – 5 bedrooms in size, of which 31 will be available as affordable homes.  Parking will be provided for every house, with more parking available for larger homes as well as visitor’s spaces. A new primary school site adjoining Hyde End Lane and Ryeish Lane, will be delivered by Wokingham Borough Council. The scheme also includes sports pitches, children’s play areas, open space and allotments for new and existing residents.

Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson Homes are working on what those homes will look like and how they will be positioned within the site.  This will form part of a ‘Reserved Matters’ planning application which goes into much more detail about house layout, scale and appearance of the new homes, as well as the  design of roads, provision of parking spaces and landscaping. This will shortly be submitted to Wokingham Borough Council for their formal consideration.

Before an application is submitted to the council, Taylor Wimpey and David Wilson Homes will take time to hear what local residents think about the plans and respond to any comments or questions.

They will hold an exhibition for residents to come and view proposals for the North of Croft Road Development on Wednesday 13th July from 4.30pm – 8pm at Three Mile Cross Church Centre, Mitford Close (Off Basingstoke Road), Three Mile Cross, Reading, RG7 1AT.

More information will be on this website in the run up to the consultation.
