Further to our previous update on 27th July 2017, work is continuing to correct the quality issues connected to the drainage installation at Arborfield Road and the offline Eastern Relief Road, whilst making every effort to minimise disruption to road users and the local community.
Work on the Arborfield Road section involves working in four separate areas around the roundabout, during off peak times only. Each area of work has to be completed in turn, so that it can be fully operational after work is finished each day. This means that the work takes longer to complete but ensures that disruption to all modes of transport is minimised, including peak time travellers and school traffic.
Once these works are completed, we will be in a position to announce the opening date for the new Eastern Relief Road. We will provide a further update later this month.
